Professionally, I have been a physical therapist since 1993, providing care in the hospital and the home. Personally I was a caregiver for my husband who had ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for 22 years while raising two boys. Even when he went on a ventilator, he was able to remain in his home with his family. I needed to find an affordable way to get help. In the meantime, my mother’s health was failing as well. She had lung disease, dementia and cancer and lived an hour away from me. It was important for my mom and my family that she be able to stay in her home. We couldn’t do that without a team of caregivers.
After my mom’s passing in 2019 and my husband’s passing in 2020, I decided it was time to use my experience to help other people. I already had a mobile physical therapy practice, Lisa Cassidy Physical Therapy, LLC which I started in 2015 (www.lisacassidypt.com) but realized there was more I had to offer. I knew how hard it was to find quality caregivers but how great life becomes when you find the right ones.
It is overwhelming when you or your loved ones have declining health or a disability. It is hard to know exactly what your loved ones need let alone where to find it. That’s where Empowering Care Solutions can help.

One of my favorite quotes is by Maya Angelou: “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. This mindset helped me to live a happy life despite having a husband with a terminal disease. Some things, like disease and disability, can’t be changed. Things like delivery of care can be changed. It just takes some “out of the box” thinking. I was upset that home care agencies were charging so much to the clients, yet the caregivers (the ones making a difference) saw a very small percentage of that money. No one was happy. Why can’t we do things differently? Well guess what? We can!
